April Ryan is a veteran American reporter, author, and White House Correspondent for The Grio. Starting January 1997 to November 2020, April served as a White House correspondent and Washington, D.C., bureau chief for American Urban Radio Networks.

Ryan began her career as a Jazz disc jockey before turning to report. She worked for various radio stations in the northeast and southeastern parts of the United States before working for the White House press corps.

Notably, she worked for Morgan State University radio station WEAA-FM and WXYZ-FM in Baltimore, Maryland, serving as its news director.

She has been a member of the White House Press Corps for 23 years where she worked as a reporter.
